American chipmaker, Qualcomm, is no doubt one of the leading chipmakers in the world. A few weeks ago, there were reports that the company is working on a new line of stronger SoCs dubbed Snapdragon 1000. This chip is designed for Windows 10 on ARM and according to reports, its performance will be comparable to Intel’s U and Y Core processors.

Now, a new job posting by Qualcomm on LinkedIn has confirmed that the Snapdragon 1000 is in testing for multiple Windows 10 on ARM applications including desktop, Andromeda, and HoloLens. This shows that Microsoft is seriously looking into ARM. The Snapdragon 1000 is specifically designed for Windows environment and it is a direct competitor with Intel’s low-end chips. This chip has been spotted with a more enhanced 12W package and this chip will be tasked with heavier workloads, like AR and VR. The fact that the Qualcomm SDM1000 is to be used in devices with Windows 10 now also confirms the job description of an employee of the chip manufacturer on LinkedIn.
