Nokia’s example is worth following for many Chinese OEMs when it comes to software upgrades on smartphones. The rejuvenated old brand has been backing even its low-end devices like the Nokia 2 solidly. Even now, the phone maker continues to impress with its great software backing. The company recently announced Android P beta programs for the Nokia 7 Plus in China. The Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 Sirocco are next on the hit list of the beta.
Today HDM Global posted on its twitter handle that Face Unlock will be arriving on four Nokia smartphones in a short time. The Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 plus, Nokia 8, and the new Nokia 6.1 are currently set to receive the feature. It will be an OTA update and users will just have to wait for HMD to start pushing the OTA. For now, no specific timeline is clear.

Is face unlock update available for Nokia 8?— Deepalakshmi (@deepalakshmii) June 22, 2018
Amongst other update-related news, the Nokia 2 was also pushed with a Android 8.1 Oreo beta very recently. On the hardware side of things, the company is gearing up for a Nokia X6 launch probably in India and some other Asian countries and we might see a Nokia 5.1 as well launch at the same event.
