Today at MWC 2018 held in Shanghai, Huawei’s chairman, Xu Zhijun, said in his speech that the company will launch a full set of 5G commercial network solutions based on Non-Independent Network (NSA) on September 30, 2018. In addition, he also revealed that Huawei will launch Kirin chips which supports 5G network in 2019 and Huawei’s 5G-enabled smartphones will also arrive next year.

Talking about the difference between 5G and 4G, Xu Zhijun said that compared with 4G, 5G has faster speed, lower delay, and more connections. Due to the integration of a stronger encryption algorithm, privacy protection, and authentication mechanisms, the security mechanism has become stronger, which means that 5G is more secure than 4G.
He said that Huawei has issued a statement on May 15, 2018, stating that Huawei as the main contributor and patentee of the 5G standard will continue to abide by the FRAND principle; Huawei is willing to cooperate with standard partners in the 5G industry and it will share more innovative technologies so as to build a healthy 5G ecological environment through open and equal cooperation.
