Vivo announced the VIVO V9 with a display notch, thin bezels, a 90-percent screen-to-body ratio, and a couple of AI feature back in the month of March. Today, out of nowhere, the company has introduced a new variant of the device in the Indonesian market.
The new VIVO V9 variant comes with 6GB RAM and a Snapdragon 660 SoC as compared to the base V9 with 4GB RAMand SD 626 SoC. The device apart from having more RAM and a new SD 660, come with a downgraded camera setup, featuring a 13MP+2MP dual rear setup and 12MP front shooter with Dual Pixel sensor as compared to the base V9 with 16MP+5MP dual rear setup and 24MP selfie shooter.

Other specs and features remain largely the same, including a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass, virtually no side bezels, 19:9 aspect ratio and a screen notch that houses the selfie camera which powers the AI Face Access feature that allows you to unlock the vivo V9 with your face instead of with the back-mounted fingerprint scanner. At the back, the vivo V9 houses dual cameras set up with flash arranged in a manner that mimics Apple’s flagship iPhone X.
The device is available in Indonesia for pre-order through July 4 at IDR 4,299,000, which currently translates to $300. Its available on official vivo online store or retailer JD, but not sure if there is a rollout plan for it
