UMIDIGI are dreaming big today as they compare their latest UMIDIGI Z2 flagship phone against one of the best shooting handset currently on the market – the Huawei P20. It’ll probably be really hard for the Z2 to come out a winner, but knowing how much more affordable the device is, even getting close to Huawei’s phone image quality, should be something worth considering.
Let’s begin with some hardware background. Both the Huawei P20 and UMIDIGI Z2 come with the typical dual camera setup, this time placed on a shiny rear back cover. We find a 12-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 20-megapixel sensor with f/1.6 aperture on the Huawei P20, meanwhile the UMIDIGI Z2 is equipped with a 16-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 8–megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture. These two system should allow to snap photos with more details as well as pictures with the fancy bokeh effect.
| Rear Camera | Front Camera | Price |
Huawei P20 | Dual: 12 MP (f/1.8) + 20 MP (f/1.6) | 24 MP, f/2.0 aperture | $550 |
UMIDIGI Z2 | Dual: 16MP main camera: 5-element lens, S5K3P8, F/2.0 aperture, 8MP secondary camera S5K4H7, F/2.0 | 16MP+8MP, f/2.0 aperture, Sony | $250 |

Gizchina News of the week
After checking out these photos, we can say that the UMIDIGI Z2 isn’t far off from snapping photos the same quality of the much more premium and expensive Huawei P20. That’s especially true in good lighting condition, at night we might see a larger gap. We’ll probably check that out next time, along with selfie quality, so stay tuned for that.
The UMIDIGI Z2 is now available at the discounted price of $249.99 ($50 off) over at Banggood. According to images coming from the factory the smartphones are already shipping, so there won’t be any additional wait. Click here to learn more about the phone.
