The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 which has been quite elusive has finally made an appearance in a render. The design resonates with the current bezel less trend with a display that pans from edge to edge with minimal bezels by tablet standards.
The tablet is significantly thin with the front housing the display. The aspect ratio of the tablet cannot be confirmed at this moment. An earlier rumour hinted towards a 10.5-inch display which is bigger than any previous panel on a Samsung tablet. There is one more detail that is missing from this tab, the home/fingerprint button. Is Samsung implemnting face recognition, or maybe an iris scanner or probably an under-display fingerprint scanner for security? Nothing can be confirmed as of now. There’s also the question of navigation keys. Samsung has dropped the physical nav keys since the S8 series to accommodate their infinity display. The seeming lack of physical keys hints at the presence of on screen navigation keys.

Other than the display, the rest of the tab does not have anything unique going for it. The power and volume buttons sit on the right and the single lens camera sits on the back with a dedicated LED flash. There will also be a front camera, specifications of which are not yet known. One detail that’s not able is the “Tuned by AKG” branding. Samsung has partnered with AKG before this. So it’s not that big of a surprise.
A benchmark report from earlier reported that the Smasung Galaxy Tab S4 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. It will be powered by a 7300mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo. It will be launched on the 9th of August with a possible earlier unveiling at IFA 2018. Stay tuned!
