The Meizu 16 is a hot topic right now. Slated to arrive on 26 August, not one day goes that a new leak or information appears. The rumour mill has churned out another leak which confirms the existence of the in-display fingerprint scanner.
The leak comes from Twitter user @bang_gogo_ who posted an image of two smartphones reported to be the Meizu 16 variants. As you can see, the phone on the left sports a thinner chin as compared to the phone on the right and a prompt for the fingerprint scanner on the screen about an inch above the chin. The variant on the right has a slightly thicker chin, but it’s not clear whether it will sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. From the looks of it, the phone will be made of glass and metal, with glass taking up space on the front as well as the rear.
Huang Zhang, Meizu’s founder, revealed that the smartphone will be unveiled in August with a price that comes with “a lot of love”. If we are to read between the lines, the Meizu 16b will probably come with a price tag that rivals other flagship phone pricing. He also revealed that the audio processing will receive a significant update. An earlier report confirms the presence of gesture navigation on the Meizu 16. The phone is said to be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset and 8GB of RAM.
Meizu is quite late in delving into the bezel-less market. But it seems like Meizu is going to create quite a splash with the 16. Stay tuned for more!
