The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has been a hot topic for weeks now. Currently, there’s a plethora of speculations and rumours surrounding the next-in-line phone in the Mix series. A teaser was posted on Weibo that did not reveal the smartphone but did throw a light on the design aspects using a simple outlined figure. If this teaser is to be believed, the Mi mix 3 will sport a Vivo Nex-like pop-up front camera.
The teaser showcases the silhouette of the alleged Mi Mix 3 with a protrusion on the top left corner. It would be easy to mistake this for the Vivo Nex if not for the Mi tagline which sits right below it. ‘The light of Mi’ is anything but clear as to what Xiaomi is up to. If I were to break it down in the most literal of ways, then that protrusion is probably a torch; light? mi? No? Okay. It’s definitely not a torch. The silhouette is reminiscent of the Mix 2S body, a rectangular frame with curved edges. Below the tagline sits another line that says ‘2018.9’ aka September 2018. So is Xiaomi planning on unveiling the Mix 3 in September? We cannot confirm the authenticity of this render, so you might want to take this one with a pinch of salt.
Gizchina News of the week
If Xiaomi uses a motorised camera, it would join the likes of Vivo and Oppo who seem to have got their mechanics right with the Nex and Find X. Other speculations point towards the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner as some renders have previously hinted. We expect to see more reports regarding the next bezel-less smartphone by Xiaomi in the coming days. Besides, there has not been any report from 3C, TENAA or NCC which means it’s probably not ready for a launch in the next few weeks.
