Nokia X6, HMD Global’s first notch trotting smartphone was launched earlier in China and has since been exclusive to the Chinse market, despite some serious clamor from fans around the globe for a global release. Though we have had a lot of reasons to believe the Nokia X6 would one day be made available outside of the Chinse market, nothing was made official yet.
Now, reports making the rounds suggests once more the device could be rolling out to more market in a couple of days. While there were indications the device could first land in India,
latest reports have it that Nokia fans in Hong Kong and Taiwan would be the first to have a feel of HMD Global first notched phone, and it is set to arrive both countries on July 19. The device, however, according to reports will launch in other markets as the Nokia 6.1 plus, a naming pattern that conforms with the rumored Nokia X5, which is expected to launch globally as the Nokia 5.1 Plus.
The device recently got certification approval in Russia and
Taiwan, further affirming reports of an imminent global rollout. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to pack identical specs as with the China-only Nokia X6 but will ditch Nokia’s custom Android overlay for stock Android. Pricing details in countries should be announced on the said date.
