Nokia X5 launch event reschelduled over technical issues


The product launch event which was supposed to usher in the Nokia X5 or Nokia 5.1 plus if you like has been hindered. Following a leak detailing the device’s price earlier today, words reaching us says the launch event has been rescheduled for a later date.

The company via its Weibo account broke the news a while back. While the company is yet to announce a new launch date, it said the cancellation became necessary due to some relating to the launch event venue. We would update you with more details whenever the company outs a new launch date.

The Nokia X5, when launched, will be HMD Globals second notched smartphone, and could be launched internationally as the Nokia 5.1 Plus. It is reported to sport a 5.8-inch HD+ display with a 720 x 1520 resolution probably with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset or MediaTek Helio P60 clocked at 2GHz under its hood. It is tipped to arrive in 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB onboard storage with a starting price of CNY 799 ($120) and CNY 999 ($150) in that order.
