While we await big Sammy’s AndroidGo smartphone, local smartphone maker Intex has today announced the arrival of its first smartphone that comes loaded with the storage-friendly Android Oreo (Go edition) OS.
Dubbed the Intex INFIE 3, the new device will hit the retail shelve soon in Grey, Gold and Light Blue colors at Rs. 4,649/ $68, and at that price, you will be getting a device with a compact size 4.95″ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display. Under the hood, the device houses a 1.1Ghz Quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. It gets a 2000mAh battery, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, both with LED flash, Face unlock, Facece Beauty, and boots Android 8.1 (Oreo Go Edition) out of the box.
Announced alongside the Intex INFIE 3 is the Intex INFIE 33, a slightly improved variant of the INFIE 3. It sports the same 18:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass displays with Face unlock as well as face beauty, but with different OS and chipset.

The Intex INFIE 33 comes fitted with a slightly larger 5.34-inch FWVGA+ 18:9 display and powered by a 1.3Ghz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9850 processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, but sadly boots Android Nougat out of the box. The device also gets a 5MP camera with LED flash on both sides and is powered by a larger 3000mAh battery.
The device comes in Black, Blue, and Champagne color options, and is about Rs 500/ $7 pricier than the INTEX INFIE 3(priced at Rs. 5,049/$74). Both devices will be available for purchase in India via the general trade network pan-India that includes more than 80,000 retailers along with over 130 Intex Smart World Brand stores.
