Xiaomi recently posted a teaser for a global event that would happen soon on its social media accounts. However, the company did not reveal when the event would take place. This new was followed by speculation that the event was for the long-pending Mi A2. And when Xiaomi kicked off the Mi Explorer Program in Madrid, Spain, it was a big hint that the event would be held there. Now, the Chinese handset maker has revealed on Spanish MIUI forums that the launch will be held on July 24th.

Co-incidentally, all substantial Mi A2 leaks have occurred in Spain. Most notably, the detailed YouTube video footage that brought the phone in the highlights. Xiaomi is still tight-lipped on the subject but the industry is convinced this will be a Mi A2 launch. Spain’s residents can get themselves a ticket for the event by registering and will receive an “incredible gift” at launch. To register, head on to Xiaomi’s Spain website and do it before July 18th. The company will get in touch with the applicants by e-mail.
The Mi A2 is expected to be priced higher than the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. The Note 5 Pro costs Rs 14,999 for the 4GB variant, so the Mi A2 can be expected to cost around Rs 16,999. However, this is speculative pricing. Meanwhile, the Mi Max 3 event has also been confirmed to take place on July 19 in China.
