OnePlus to ditch Dash charge as it trademarks Warp charge

As expected, Chinese smartphones maker- Oneplus may be entirely ditching the OnePlus dash Charge moniker for a different name pretty soon. The Dash charge first debuted with the OnePlus 3 a couple of years ago and has since been a major selling point of OnePlus’ phones.

However, luck ran out of Oneplus, when the EU rejected its trademark application earlier in the year having been challenged by Wireless Audio company Bragi and Amazon.  It became apparent that the company may want to phase out the Dash charge moniker, may be,  not world over, but at least in Europe when it deliberately failed to mention Dash Charge at the Oneplus 6 London event but did so in India.

Gizchina News of the week

Now, the company has trademarked Warp Charge which it intends to substitute for the Dash charge. Though details of the trademark application are scares, the application did cover chargers and cables for smartphones. The application is currently is marked as “under examination” by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) authorities, so we won’t be expecting an official announcement until Oneplus gets approval from the Authority.
