One of the leading fashion houses in the world has announced the Emporio Armani Connected 2018 Smartwatch. This is not the first time that a fashion brand has dabbled with smartwatches. Fossil started doing it long back and as a part of the same group, Emporio Armani has dipped their feet in the market too. A majority of fashionable smartwatches are either hybrid or lack in features that a traditional smartwatch offers and looks like the Connected 2018 is here to break the trend.
Gizchina News of the week
The Emporio Armani Connected 2018 manages to blend technology with style, at least on paper. The smartwatch is powered by Google’s WearOS 2.0. Under the hood lies Qualcomm’s old Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. The watch sports a 1.19″ AMOLED touchscreen. It sits cosily in a sleek stainless steel case measuring 43 x 49mm. There’s a variety of body colours you can choose from. The straps are available in single link bracelets, leather, and mesh/Milanese loop.
Some of the notable sensors on the watch are the GPS, NFC for Google Pay, and the Heart-rate sensor. The watch is waterproof up to 3 ATM and offers 1-2 days of battery life. The software side of things is handled by WearOS 2.0, meaning, it comes with a bunch of apps and support for the same. The Connected 2018 smartwatch will be available to purchase before the end of this month at a starting price of $295 up to $395. Pre-orders will begin anytime today on the Armani website
