Xiaomi will be hosting a launch event in Spain on July 24, and it has already issued invites for the event. While it already confirmed a few hours ago that the event would be the launch pad for the global variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6X – its second generation Mi A2 Android One phone, a fresh teaser from the company suggest the Mi A2 will be accompanied by a second smartphone, and our guess is that the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite could be second on the list.
The fresh teaser posted by Xiaomi on its official Twitter page reveals sketches of the flip sides of two Smartphones with vertically aligned dual rear cameras. The image is accompanied by the tweet “We are giving you ALL not 1 but 2 smartphones on July 24th! Any guesses? #2isbetterthan1” which is a subtle confirmation of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 lite.
Gizchina News of the week
As far as specs are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite as the name suggests is expected to be a somewhat stepped down variant of the base Mi A2 Android One Phone. A listing on Aliexpress reveals the device will flaunt a somewhat reduced display – a notched 5.84-inch Full HD+ display which has a resolution of 2228 x 1080 pixel, while the Mi A2 SD chipset will be swapped for a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocking 2.0GHz coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card.
Both memory variants of the device as listed on aliexpress will go for $189.99/$209.99. Full specs and pricing details should be revealed on July 24 launch date.
