Samsung Galaxy Watch Launching on the 9th of August

It’s no news that Samsung is planning to bring their smartwatch division under the Galaxy moniker. Proof of the same is the renaming of the Gear S4 to Samsung Galaxy Watch. According to ZDNet Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Watch will be launched on 24th of August alongside the Galaxy Note 9.

The Galaxy Watch was last reported to sport the new moniker about a week ago. It is rumoured that the new smartwatch will ditch the Tizen OS for Google’s feature-rich WearOS. It seems unlikely to happen since Samsung seldom loses out on a chance to push its own OS on any device. The watch is also expected to sport Bixby. It is reported that the Samsung Galaxy Watch will be catered more towards health-related features.

The Galaxy watch will be unveiled along with the Note 9 on August 9 as confirmed earlier at the Galaxy Unpacked event in New York. Both the devices will be up for pre-orders starting August 14. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2018, Tab S4 might also see a launch on the same day. Right now, the only confirmed launch is that of the Note 9 but we expect to receive more reports in the coming days. Samsung might unveil an array of devices on the 9th.
