After months of leaks and teasers, Xiaomi has today unveiled the Mi Max 3, the third in its large screen series of smartphones. The Mi Max 3 as the name suggests, does things big, from an overly large display to a monstrous battery and up to 6GB of RAM.
The device packs a unibody metal design fitted with a large 6.9″ FHD+ display, an 18:9 aspect ratio, slim side bezels, without the trendy notch at the front, a circular rear fingerprint sensor, as well as a dual rear camera setup. Under the good, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 utilizes a Snapdragon 636 SoC with Adreno 509 GPU, 4GB of RAM and boots Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI out of the box. Above the large 6.9″ display, you will find an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with support for face unlock, while a vertically aligned dual 12MP+5MP cameras with dual PD focus AI voice assistance and some AI features which it said can detect about 206 scenes.
Connectivity options include Dual hybrid SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and a USB Type-C. The device measures 176.15×87.4×7.99mm, and weighs 221g, and will hit the market in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold, and Dark Blue color options.
The base 4GB variant is priced at 1699 yuan/US$ 252. while the 6GB variant goes for 1999 yuan/US$ 296. It will go on sale in China starting from July 20th, but there is presently no word on international availability.
