Xiaomi Mi A2/A2 Lite Launched In Spain

Well, all the fuss regarding Xiaomi’s second Stock Android device came to an end today when the company unveiled these smartphones in Spain. Earlier speculations suggested that Xiaomi will launch only the Xiaomi Mi A2 but suddenly, the company started the #2isbetterthan1 campaign which saw the birth of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. Although these devices are just basically re-branded Xiaomi phones, their uniqueness lies in their tie-up with the Android One program by Google. These are the only phones on the market sporting stock Android by Xiaomi, of course including their elder sibling, Xiaomi Mi A1. Most of the specs of these smartphones especially the Lite variant has been made public as it appeared on various online stores days before launch. Without further ado, let’s see what the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have in store for us.

Launch Venue

Xiaomi Mi A2

Well, just like we said earlier, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is more like a rebranded Xiaomi Mi 6X. This smartphone comes with a unibody aluminum body design and it is only 7.3mm thick. The camera department of this device is quite exciting and photo lovers will definitely crush on this one.

On the rear, this smartphone is equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX486 coupled with another 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor both of which has a f/1.75 aperture and large pixel size. With the “Super Pixel” feature on the 20MP snapper, you can be certain of brighter images and this feature needs to be turned manually in the camera app. In addition, the selfie camera is another bombshell. It sports a 20MP with soft selfie light and auto HDR. It comes with AI portrait mode which gives AI bokeh enhancements. Just like the rear camera, you also get a 4-in-1 Super Pixel feature on the front snapper for perfect selfies in a low light environment. The display is quite common as it uses a 5.99-inch portable screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a display resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels.

Just like we have heard from the rumors, the Xiaomi Mi A2 like the Mi 6X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with intelligent task allocation. It got an Antutu benchmark score of  140,000 which is way higher than the Xiaomi Mi A1. This processor will be assisted by 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage although there will be a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant as well. Of course, it will run in pure Android Oreo and its lights will be kept on by a 3000mAh battery. The 4GB/32GB version of Xiaomi Mi A2 will cost 249 Euros ($292) in Europe while the 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB will sell for 279 Euros ($327) and 349 Euros ($404) respectively. It is available in three colours, Black, blue and Gold.

This smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset clocking 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB. Although, we also have a 3GB/32GB variant. It is equipped with a 5.84-inch screen which has a display resolution of 2280 x 1080p resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The rear cameras segment protrudes by 2 milimeters from the body. Thats extremely unpractical and ugly. Xiaomi are forcing users to put the phone in a case otherwise the camera will be the first thing to get scratched.
