At a launch event held in Madrid, Spain, earlier today, Xiaomi took the wrap off its most awaited second generation of stock Android phones – the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the smaller sibling – the Xiaomi Mi A2 lite. The buzz around the phone is not just because both devices are based on Google Android One before now reserved for low-end devices, but because they offer mid-range specs with stock Android 8.1 experience.
According to the details revealed by the firm earlier today about the global roll out of both models, the Mi A2 will be available in 39 different countries cutting across six different regions of the world including India, while the Mi A2 Lite will be available in all, but excluding India, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Now, Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain in a Tweet has confirmed that fans of Xiaomi MI A2 won’t have to wait forever before they can purchase the device in the country. He says the device will hit the Indian market on August 8th, but with no hint on the device’s Indian pricing.
Gizchina News of the week
While the device is priced at 249 Euros (US$ 291 / Rs. 20,065 approx.) in Europe, we expect the Indian pricing to be a tad lower than what obtains in Europe.
