Lenovo-owned Motorola seems to be planning a very aggressive rollout for its budget mid-range Moto E series first launched earlier this year in Brazil. Following the launch of one or two members of the series in a number of global markets including UK and India, indications emerged earlier this week that the brand might be launching in Taiwan soon, and now we have the scoop that China might be the next in line to get the device.
Preparatory to its launch in China, the Moto E5 plus alongside the Moto Z3 play have both surfaced on the Chinese certification site – TENAA for the usual approval needed before it could sell in the market.
Much like the Moto E5 play launched in the UK which is quite different from the one in the US, the Moto E5 play planned for the Chinse market might bear sight variations. First off, the E5 play destined for the Chinese market as seen on TENAA’s site is tipped to come with 4,850mAh battery against the 5000mAh battery on the global variant, however, it is expected to come in 3GB/32GB, 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB RAM and storage combinations against the global variant with just 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB RAM/storage variants.

Other specs appear to match that of the global variant, and that includes a Snapdragon 430 SoC, a 12 MP f/2.0 rear camera with laser AF, and a 5 MP f/2.0 front camera.
The listing also suggests the Chinese market will be getting the Moto Z3 Play with more advanced hardware, and that includes a slightly bumped up battery capacity – from 3000mAh to 3,300 mAh and will ditch the Snapdragon 636 for the Snapdragon 660 SoC.
The device will come in 4GB, 6GB and 64GB and 128GB RAM and storage options. Other specs including a 12MP low-light primary sensor aided by a 5MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie sensor.
