Recently there have been rumours surrounding the existence of a Key2 Lite variant. A couple of leaks have been seen so far. FCC has listed the BBE100-5 variant as BlackBerry Key2 LE. “LE” might stand for Limited Edition.

As far as the design and specs are concerned, the Key2 LE will likely be a Key2 clone with a few additions and subtractions here and there. A Geekbench listing confirmed the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. It was supported by 4GB RAM. This configuration is similar to that of the Key2 except for the RAM which is 6GB on the Key2.

Gizchina News of the week

Evan Blass had recently taken to Twitter to claim the existence of the Key2 LE. He stated that it will be available in 3 colours, red, blue and copper. The image showcased a device with red accents on the sides. It then appeared on FCC confirming its existence. The information on the FCC website will soon be populated and we will have more clarity on the BlackBerry Key2 LE. BlackBerry has been tight-lipped about the Key2 LE and there has been no official word from the Canadian phone-maker. Since the phone is bagging certifications, it won’t be long till we see an official launch.
