Meizu is one of few companies whose founder has an answer to almost every question that is thrown at him on Meizu community. The Meizu 16 series will be coming soon and recently, a Meizu fan asked a question “I hope that the price of the Meizu 16 cheap version will not exceed 2,000 Yuan ($294)”. In response, Huang Zhang said: “I have already minimized the gross profit of the company and the channel. The channel can be very good without increasing the price. If you want cheaper, choose the X8.” This implies that the company is lining up the Meizu X8 as a cheaper alternative to the Meizu 16 series.
