Asus has today launched the Zenfone Live L1 – its first Android Go phone in the US, making it the third of such phone to hit the US market( ZTE Tempo Go and the Alcatel 1 already available in the market). The device first launched in Indonesia a couple of months back with exact same low-end spectrum hardware.
The highlight of the device much like every other Android Go phones is that it comes off the box with Android 8.1 Oreo in Android Go edition, devoid of ASUS’ bloated Zen UI, which means the device should get faster OS update over the next two years. The Device is at present exclusive to BestBuy online stores at about $110 but will be sold at select Best Buy stores at a later date.
Gizchina News of the week
As you already know, the smartphone is targeted at the low-income earner, so our expectation isn’t that of a mid-tier device. It flaunts a 5.5″ HD+ display with the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio, and under the hood, the device gets the SD 425 SoC coupled with 1GBRAM and 16GB of storage, however, the device gets a dedicated microSD card slot, so you won’t have to sacrifice any SUM slot for memory expansion.
On the photographic front, the device gets a 23MP rear camera with PDAF coupled with a 5MP camera which you can use for face unlock. There is a 3,300mAh battery, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-fI 802 11ac and more.
