Two OPPO Smartphones Got 3C Certification: OPPO R17?

OPPO

Today, on August 6, OPPO’s two new smartphones passed the 3C certification with the model numbers of PBEM00 and PBET00. The 3C certification page shows that their charger model is VC54JBCH, which is consistent with the OPPO R15 and R15 Dream Mirror charger models. So there is every reason to think the certified products are the OPPO R17 and OPPO R17 Pro, and the will support 20W VOOC flash charging.

OPPO R17

Generally, we have heard too many interesting rumors concerning the upcoming OPPO flagships. It’s been officially said OPPO will be the first manufacturer to commercialize Corning’s sixth-generation Gorilla Glass. The OPPO R17 is the best candidate for that. As for the new glass itself, in the recent Toluna Global Consumer Survey, people found that on average, they dropped their phones 7 times in a year, half of which fell from a height of 1 meter or less. To improve the durability of the glass, Corning scientists redesigned and developed new materials. This makes the new generation of Gorilla Glass be capable of withstanding 15 tests of falling from a height of 1 meter to a rough surface, which doubles the performance compared to the 5th generation.

Apart from this, the OPPO R17 is assumed to support on-screen fingerprint scanner, which can be found on a few models only. In terms of hardware, this handset has passed TENAA and we know it will be packed with a Snapdragon 710 pseudo-flagship chip, a 6.3-inch full-screen with a specially-shaped notch, a 3145mAh battery and many more. The current OPPO flagships are packed with a Snapdragon 660. So the performance will be improved a lot.

Currently, OPPO leads the Chinese smartphone market, according to the 2018 first half data. This simply means, OPPO should bring more attractive smartphones to keep this title. Of course, the OPPO Find X has no equals, but it’s not affordable for many customers. The launch of the OPPO R17 will solve all the problems.
