The Oppo R17 and R17 Plus/Pro have finally made an appearance on TENAA after having passed by the 3C certification website. The listing has thrown light on the design of the two upcoming Oppo phones.
First off, let’s talk about the Oppo R17. It sports a full-screen display up front with an Essential Ph-1 like notch, like the upcoming Oppo F9’s. The front is devoid of any buttons or markings. The power button sits on the right side of the frame while the volume rockers sit on the right. The back is made of glass and houses a dual camera setup along with a fingerprint scanner. That’s all there is to this phone.
Gizchina News of the week
As far as the Oppo R17 Pro/Plus is concerned, it has the same design as the R17 with a minor difference, there’s no visible fingerprint scanner. This opens up two possibilities, facial recognition or an in-display fingerprint scanner. A proper facial recognition system would be difficult to put in place since the cut-out on the front is really small. So the logical deduction is the in-display fingerprint scanner. An earlier report also hinted at the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner. An appearance on TENAA confirms the existence of these two smartphones. Currently, we have no clue as to when they will be unveiled, but since they are out bagging certifications, the launch should not be too far.
