Gizchina News of the week
The Chinese company has not clarified why it has launched the particular brand in India and whether it would see a launch in other markets. The Pocophone F1 will likely be the first phone under the new sub-brand. Judging from the specifications, leaks and reports till now, Xiaomi is aiming to launch a phone with flagship hardware at a competitive pricing in the country.
Xiaomi has not launched a flagship Mi phone in the country since the Mi5. The last premium smartphone that the company launched in India was the Mix 2 which did not receive a great reception. Xiaomi has focused mainly on the affordable and mid-range phones in the country. The Pocophone F1 might change Xiaomi’s flagship status in the country. This is the first hint by Xiaomi towards the Pocophone F1’s existence. As for the pricing and launch date, it should lie anywhere between the Asus Zenfone 5Z and the OnePlus 6. The launch should happen anytime in the coming weeks.
