Recently, Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, released the MIUI 10 Version 8.8.9 update and this update was supposed to tackle bug fixes and optimizations. However, this update came with a couple of bugs that have now forced the company to suspend its release.
Early adopters of this update have reported issues with Dual Apps reloading, apps force-closing, and a black screen when using Dual Apps. With the active anti-rollback feature on many devices, users who already have the update will have to cope with it until the company releases a fix. This fix should not take time although the company did not set a specific date. As of now, over 10 Xiaomi smartphones are scheduled to receive the new Android 9 Pie update between now and the end of Q1 2019. All the 2018 flagships are included but the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has already started getting the beta update of Android 9 Pie.
Gizchina News of the week
According to Google, the new Android P has two major upgrades. The first is its support for the recently popularized notch. In the developer mode, the Android 9 Pie system can simulate the notch and optimize the notification bar. Secondly, the system efficiency is optimized which means that Android 9 Pie takes a shorter time to launch apps and the overall performance is better. At the same time, Android 9 Pie also displays the idle applications using the phone microphone, camera, and other sensors. The security of Android P is better than the previous versions.
