Samsung spams older Galaxy devices with Galaxy Note 9 notifications


Well that’s a way to earn a living, isn’t it? Samsung has been known in the past to be somewhat aggressive when it comes to spamming users about upcoming devices, but this – really – has got to end! galaxy note 9

According to a Reddit user (AlanRosenthal), his device was spammed by Samsung themselves, with a pop-up notification urging him to buy the newly launched Galaxy Note 9 phablet, with the image above verifying his post.

And YES, there is a way to opt-out of these notifications but, surely they shouldn’t be on a device someone has spent money to buy at the first place. In any way, if you’re facing yourselves pop-up notifications like these, or you just want to opt-out anyway and never  again mess with this type of aggressive promotion, then go into:

Settings → General → Marketing Information, and untick anything related to promotion messages.

Oh and if this doesn’t work, and Samsung keeps spamming your Galaxy smartphone, then try and head over to Settings – Apps – locate Samsung Ads app and deactivate it. You’ll thank us later 😉
