Xiaomi’s subbrand – Pocofone is expected to introduce the first smartphone under its radar soon. Dubbed the Pocophone F1, previous leaks and renders suggest the device will probably come with a hard plastic body, a 5.99-inch display with a large iPhone X-style display notch with a rather large chin on the bottom, and a flagship Qualcomm SD 845 SoC.
Though the full specs sheet is yet to be confirmed, we can now bet the farm on there being two variant of the Pocophone F1 in the works, both packing the same SD 845 SoC, but with different RAM sizes. The first variant with 6GB of RAM already passed through the Geekbench test with some impressive scores, and now we have the second variant popped up on Geekbench with 8GB RAM.
Gizchina News of the week
Much like the 6GB RAM variant, the 6GB RAM variant will boot Android 8.1.0 Oreo out of the box, but what is most amazing is that the 2451 single-core and 8998 multi-core SoC performance scores of this variant are a bit below the 6GB variant, even though they are quite on par with other SD 845 powered devices. There are murmurs that the device will come with the Liquid cool feature which will help keep the temperature under control and mitigate thermal throttling.
While we await the formal unveiling of the device, Online news website Android Authority apparently found a way to get their hands on the device before that day, unveiling pretty much all the specs and features of the first ever handset coming from Xiaomi’s sub-brand – Pocophone.
