Although the Galaxy Note 9 phablet won’t reach the hand of early adopters until August 24, early reports suggest the Note 9 might just be the miracle needed by the Korean giant to sail off the ship of a disappointing year due to poor sales of the Galaxy S9. We now have more pre-order reports of the flagship Note 9, following a report from earlier this week which revealed that the pre-orders of the Note 9 have surpassed that of the S9 within the same period after launch.
Gizchina News of the week
Though the base Galaxy Note 9 is the least priced of the duo – costing about KRW 1.09 million/$1200, a report from Korea’s largest carrier SK Telecom suggests that the pricier model with 512GB storage appeals more to early adopters than the base Galaxy Note 9 with 128GB storage. While we are not certain what the situation might be in other countries, SK Telecoms says over 50% of early adopters have picked the 512GB model over the base 128GB model, even though the base 128GB variant carries a lesser price tag. The blue color is said to be the most popular among customers.
Unlike the previous Galaxy Note, Samsung mobile is offering the flagship Note 9 only in two models – the base variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage combination, and the top-end variant with 8GB RAM+ 512GB storage, both of which can be expanded up to 512GB with microSD.
