Amazon-exclusive Galaxy A8 Star set to launch in India soon

Only a few days ago, we reported that  the support page for two Samsung phones – the Galaxy J2 Core (Galaxy J2 Core (SM-J260G/DS) alongside the support page for the Galaxy A8 Star (SM-G885F/DS) have been published on Samsung’s Indian website, fueling speculations that both devices might land in Indian pretty soon. Proving speculators right, Amazon.in has now teased a Galaxy smartphone on its website, hinting that the device might soon go live for sale or possible pre-orders.

Though the teaser page makes no mention of the Galaxy A8 star, taglines like  “Here comes the star!”  are enough to suggest we are actually dealing with the Samsung Galaxy A8 star.  And while the teaser is mute on things like its expected Indian launch date, price, and specs, there are also some subtle hints that suggest the device would come with dual camera setup on the flip side, a long-lasting battery and of course a hint that suggests it would come with a price tag of  Rs. 30,000/ (~$430).

Gizchina News of the week

The Galaxy A8 Star isn’t an entirely fresh device, it is already available in the Philippines and Malaysia as a  rebadged Galaxy A9 Star announced in China some month back. When launched in India, the device will compete fiercely with the likes of the Oneplus 6, and the Asus Zenfone 5z, even though both devices offer some more compelling features than itself.
