Alleged Moto G6 Plus “Waterdrop-Notch” variant leaks alongside Motorola One

The Moto G6 Plus was released by Motorola back in May of this year. The handset came alongside the standard Moto G6 variant and the affordable Moto G6 Play. Today a new leak appeared in the realms of SlashLeaks showing a supposed variant of the Moto G6 Plus sporting a small “Waterdrop” notch at the top of the screen.

The glass build on the back is equal to the handset released back in May, however, the biggest difference is on the front and the display of this variant. While the standard Moto G6 Plus features a display with no notch, it also has much larger bezels and a home button-like fingerprint scanner. This new leak reveals a smartphone that has reduced bezels, a top-notch that houses camera and sensor, while the fingerprint scanner seems to have been moved to the back, sharing space with the Motorola logo.

Gizchina News of the week

The screenshot in the handset reveals the Moto G6 Plus name, however, this new variant could pretty much be a successor for the Moto G5S. Currently, it’s hard to estimate if this is, in fact, a new handset to come alongside the Motorola One and Motorola One Power. But, since both handsets should be released soon, we wouldn’t be surprised if this new Moto G6 Plus variant arrives as well.

The Motorola One also appeared on this leak, this time in a live-picture that shows the handset display in all its notched-glory. This is the second time that we can spot the Motorola One in a picture other than mere renders.

Both Motorola One and One Power have been the target of multiple leaks in the recent weeks, the constant leaks are pointing to an imminent launch for the smartphones. However, Motorola hasn’t confirmed the release of both smartphones yet. Despite this, the number of leaks is pointing to a release that could happen in the upcoming weeks. Of course, stay tuned for details about the two handsets and this possible new Notched variant of the Moto G6 Plus.
