Chinese Redmi Note 5 getting MIUI 10 stable update

A lot of people have been impatiently waiting for MIUI 10 to hit their Redmi Note devices in China. A considerable amount of this crowd would be those who own the Redmi Note 5. Now, let me remind you that the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India is called simply Redmi Note 5 AI. While the Redmi 5 Plus in China is referred to as Redmi Note 5 in India. We’re actually talking about the Pro version with dual cameras here.

Stable MIUI 10 rollout has begun albeit it is only seen on the Mi 6 as of now. Now, an OTA update is also appearing for The Redmi Note 5 AI. Obviously, the OTA update will appear as MIUI 10.0.1.0. It is based on Android 8.1 Oreo and also has July 2018 security patch. However, the Mi 6 update comes with the August security patch.

The appearance of the latest MIUI on Redmi Note 5 AI means that a global OTA for Redmi Note 5 Pro is also on the cards. Although we stop short of describing an ETA.
Among similar developments, the new POCO F1, and Mi 8 will be launching soon across the globe with MIUI 10. Also, the Mi Mix 2s is also getting MIUI 10 stable update with the Mi 8 SE.
