HTC has announced its brand new mid-range smartphone, the HTC U12 Life today at the eve of the IFA 2018 kick-off. Now, this isn’t a surprise launch as the company had issued a teaser earlier which we reported here at Gizchina. It is priced £299 in the United Kingdom and sadly it isn’t coming to the US this time.
Specs-wise you’ll find a Snapdragon 636 inside which is a reasonable upgrade over the Snapdragon 630 in its predecessor. The front 18:9 panel is 6.0-inches and has IPS LCD tech with Full-HD+ resolution. If anyone hates notches and likes HTC, this seems to be a good mid-range new option.
For optics, the rear cameras have an array of 16MP + 5MP sensors and the front is endowed with a 13MP single sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It is a dual SIM device and has 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options. The package is rounded off with a 3,600mAh battery.
Gizchina News of the week
The HTC U11 Life successor has a new plastic back with a slick and shiny backside. Yup, it’s not metal or glass but it mimics metal. In terms of colours, it is much reminiscent of the dual-tone Pixel 2 rear but it is much shiny and comes in different colours. HTC has probably made a ton of these shiny rear panels before and this is an evolution of that design.
