Chinese manufacturer, ZTE, is now trying to retrace its steps after it was slammed with a ban from the United States which crippled its business for months and the company lost billions of dollars in the process. Today, at IFA 2018 holding in Germany, the company announced its first post-ban flagship smartphone, ZTE Axon 9 Pro. This smartphone is the direct successor to Axon 7 and there are significant improvements between both devices.

The ZTE Axon 9 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s 2018 flagship SoC, Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is better than the 4GB/64GB configuration found on Axon 7. It is equipped with a 6.21-inch AMOLED FHD+ (2248×1080) display with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. In the camera department, the Axon 9 Pro sports a 12MP+20MP dual rear camera with another 20MP shooter for selfies which supports face recognition. Although the company is not quite ready to include Android 9 Pie on this one, it comes with Android 8.1 Oreo which is found on many 2018 flagships. Its lights are kept on by a decent 4,000 mAh battery with wireless charging support.
