Lenovo is very active at IFA 2018. But this time, it is launching various laptops instead of smartphones or other mobile products. One of the most attractive notebooks is considered to be the Lenovo Yoga S730. It is very thin and lightweight but comes with powerful internals. It will go on sale in November at $999. Customers can choose any of two color options, including the Platinum and Iron Gray.
Unlike many Lenovo models, the Yoga S730 is not a 2-in-1 laptop. Instead, it comes with a traditional clamshell design. So this is the case when we can say the flexibility has been sacrificed in benefit of a gorgeous design. Honestly, this model is said to be the Lenovo’s variant of the Apple MacBook. And we have to write down it is capable of struggling against the mentioned models because it has a premium aluminum build, quite powerful hardware, and is priced way more affordable.
Gizchina News of the week
The Lenovo Yoga S730 sports a 13.3-inch 1080p resolution display, the brightness of which reaches 300 nits. The generous screen-to-body ratio allowed Lenovo to shrink the overall size of the 1.2kg laptop down to 12.1 x 8.3 x 0.5 inches. So we can notice it is thinner than the 12-inch MacBook. But at the same time, it is more powered due to its U series processors. As you guess, they are the newly launched Intel Whiskey Lake CPUs. They are said to provide more improved performance and efficiency in comparison to the Kaby Lake models.
There are two variants of the Lenovo Yoga S730 coming with a Core i5-8265U or i7-8565U CPU. Both are paired with an integrated Intel HD 620 graphics. If you need more power, the Yoga S730 offers two Thunderbolt 3 ports for connecting to external monitors and eGPUs. The rest of interesting extras include a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a backlit keyboard, and a fingerprint reader.
Customers can configure the Yoga S730 with up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The company says this laptop is capable of providing up to 10 hours of battery life.
