LG Q9 with Snapdragon 660 SoC in the offing, reveals tipster

LG just finished launched the Q7 in India last week and a new leak has emerged today that reveals an LG Q9 is being prepped for launch soon. The new tip comes from a tipster on Twitter who outed the alleged specs of the supposed upper-midrange phone from LG.

Gizchina News of the week

As per the source, the LG Q9 is a powerful budget handset featuring a Snapdragon 660 SoC that also powers the new Mi A2 of Xiaomi and a number of other phones under Rs 25k in India. Furthermore, the LG Q9 would also be backed by 4GB of RAM and two storage options are currently being reported – 32GB and 64GB. Rounding the leak is the 3,550mAh battery on the rumoured device. Android 8.1 Oreo is being tipped on the software side of things and it’s reasonable to expect that. This is the first we’ve heard about such an LG phone and there’s still a lot of blanks here. We expect the other specs to be close to the LG Q8 (2018) that also launched last month with the same processor.

Hence, we should see an IP68 rating and MIL-grade certification as well on the device considering it’s also on the low-end Q series phones. Also expect dual cameras, USB Type-C, Face Unlock as some other borrowed features. For more info on the LG Q8, you can refer our news story here.
