Google sets October 9 for its next launch event, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in tow

While Apple’s iPhones for 2018  would arrive in a matter of days, the Mountain View tech major – Google wants you to wait for a couple of weeks more before it officially unwraps the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The firm earlier today sent out invites for an event which it tags made by Google on October 9, and while it held the Pixel and Pixel 2 event in Mountain View, California, Google this time around is launching its next product line up in the New York City. The event kicks off at exactly 11 AM ET and will show live on youtube.

While there is no specific mention of what will be announced on the said date, there is a subtle hint contained in the invite that suggests the highlights of the October 9 event will be the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.  The invite has a GIF that animates the storied “I <3 NY” with metallic colored silver and gold/copper dots, with the Google ‘G’ following. The heart comprised of a “3” is likely an illusion to the Pixel 3.

Gizchina News of the week

With the Pixel watch almost out of the equation, the October 9 event could be a launch pad for Google’s upcoming smart display, a new Google Pixelbook 2, a Second-generation Pixel Buds and possibly a Chromecast.

At the launch event, Google will have little or nothing new to expose, as the duo have been embroiled in a series of leaks leading to this day. While some intentionally or not flaunted their pre-production phone in a bar, others prefer to leave it in the back of a Lyft. In both cases, the result is exactly the same: the camera is irremediably headlining and under the spotlight. This time, it’s a Pixel 3 XL that was left behind a Lyft car late last week. Both Pixel 3 and its larger sibling also recently cleared both the FCC and NCC certification in the US and Taiwan respectively.l

We’ll continue to update with relevant leaksin the days leading to October 9, however, you can check here for all major leaks on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL so far.
