Gizchina News of the week
Today, Xiaomi shared a teaser for a launch event set in Chengdu, without any obvious details about the event. However, if you look closely, there is a hint that this is indeed a Mi 8 Youth Edition launch event. Take a look at the contents of the pot in the bottom. There are a number of eatables and surprisingly a smartphone is also seen half buried in there. From what we’ve seen of the Mi 8 Youth Edition dual camera before, we’re sure this is a Mi 8 Youth Edition launch event. Now, we still don’t have dates but we’re expecting the event in the coming two weeks.
The Mi 8 Youth Edition is rumoured to feature a 6.26-inch 2280 x 1080 pixel resolution display and Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 710 chipset inside it. The camera setup is expected to be a 12MP + 5MP sensor for the rear and a 24MP shooter at the front for selfies. The handset should probably have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with a 3,350mAh battery.
