Earlier today, we got a confirmation from OnePlus itself that the OnePlus 6T will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. To introduce this new hardware, the company will bring a brand new software feature called Screen Unlock. According to the company, this new particular feature will affect the users and cut some inconveniences of rear-mounted fingerprint scanners.
While this image may look like a random screenshot teased by the company, there are some coincidences that lead us to think outside the box. The referred date coincides with OnePlus’ previous releases. The OnePlus 3 arrived on June 14, while the OnePlus 3T debuted on November 15. Likewise, the OnePlus 5 was announced on June 20, and the 5T on November 21. If the company continues this tendency, the October 17 will be the chosen date, one time that the OnePlus 6 was released back on May 16. While this seems like a conspiracy theory, it also feels plausible enough to be discussed.
Of course, take the above information with a grain of salt, since the Chinese firm is still yet to confirm the release date of their upcoming OnePlus 6T. The newest handset is expected to come with the Snapdragon 845, 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB of Storage, Android 9.0 Pie, slightly larger AMOLED display with a smaller waterdrop notch. The handset is also expected to come with Oppo’s Super VOOC charging, although it could debut as “Super Dash Charge” or “Warp Charge.” More details about this upcoming flagship should pop-out in the coming days, considering that OnePlus does not usually keep its secrets well.
