Early last month, the Meizu 16 series was released and this smartphone instantly became one of the most cost-effective devices, at least on paper. As of now, no buyer has been many buyers are still waiting for their device and today, the company announced that the Meizu 16 series orders were postponed. Meizu released this information in an apology letter which is addressed to its subscribers.
Specifically, the Meizu 16 6GB+64GB version black/white got delayed by one week while the 6GB+128GB version white version has 2-3 weeks delay. As for the Plus model, the 6GB+128GB version white is delayed by 2-4 weeks while the 8GB+128GB white variant is delayed by 1 -4 weeks.
According to the company, due to the erroneous estimation of the popularity of Meizu 16, there was a major deviation in materials stocking and in order to ensure survival, the company must balance the supply-demand of other sales channels. The low stocking of the two flagship smartphones has brought huge operational pressure to Meizu, its current stocking of the Meizu 16 series is relatively conservative but it is still unable to meet the market demand.
In order to ensure an even distribution to all major sales partners and offline channels, the company has only pre-sales on its official website.
