In addition to the AMAZFIT smartwatch and AMAZFIT Mi Health Band 1S two new products, Huami also officially released the world’s first smart wearable smart chip – ‘Huangshan No. 1.’

Huangshan No. 1

Huami said that in order to avoid the homogenization of the wearable industry and bring new core values to users, it hopes to take on the responsibility of changing and leading the industry. It is reported that the ‘Huangshan No. 1’ is the world’s first wearable processor integrated with AI neural network. It has four core artificial intelligence engines: cardiac biometrics engine, ECG, ECG Pro, and heart rhythm abnormality monitoring engine.

In addition, the ‘Huangshan No. 1’ is also the world’s first RISC-V open source instruction set wearable processor. It has three characteristics: AI drive, lightning performance, and low power consumption. This chip adopts the ‘Always on’ technology, which is different from the traditional AI and realizes the forward movement of the AI from the cloud to the end. So the real-time calculation does not need to be transmitted. This helps the chip to perform 38% more efficiently than the Arm Cortex-M4 architecture processor.

The ‘Huangshan No. 1’ was also highly recognized by Zhang Hongjiang, former vice managing director of Microsoft Research Asia. He said: ‘Huami Technology has released the world’s first AI chip Huangshan No. 1 in the field of wearables with its continuous exploration and accumulation in the artificial intelligence. For the first time on the wearable device, the AI has been implemented from the cloud to the front. It supports real-time biometric identification, real-time warning of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmia functions. The birth of this AI chip marks the first time that deep learning technology has landed on smart wearable devices, which is of great significance to the AI field.’

The ‘Huangshan No. 1’ will be officially applied to the new wearable products of Huami in the first half of 2019.
