Samsung Galaxy Note 9 bursts into flame in a Woman’s purse

All thanks to the Galaxy Note7 Fiasco, all Galaxy flagships from the time of the Galaxy Note 7 have always been involved in one or two fire incidence, proven or not. The latest involves an early adopter of the Galaxy Note 9 in Newyork, who has filed a lawsuit against Samsung over an alleged fire incident involving the newly released Galaxy Note 9.

According to the NY Post, an estate agent residing in a Long Island named Diane Chung through her team of legal experts has filed a suit against Samsung over her all-new Galaxy Note 9 which burst into flames in her purse.

The lawsuit alleged that the device which she held probably in her hands “became extremely hot” in the elevator of a Bayside building. On noticing the unusual temperature, Chung dropped the device in her purse, but just a few seconds later, she heard “a whistling and screeching sound, preceded by a thick smoke” pouring from her purse.

The Woman further stated that she emptied the purse onto the elevator’s floor, but the inferno never ceased until she got to the lobby where a passerby helped her drop the device into a bucket of water.

No casualty involved, though Ms. Chung alleged she sustained a burnt while she also lost some purse content, and to this end is seeking some damage, as well as an order barring the Korean giant from further selling the much-touted Galaxy Note 9.

While this appears to be an isolated case, Samsung says it is investigating the incidence, so we expect that to be concluded in the earliest possible time. This is the first reported case of fire incidence involving the Note9, and chances are that it is a local and not a generalized issue.
