Xiaomi TVs powered by Android TV get certified with Amlogic chipsets

While OnePlus is all set to sail on the TV market waters in the next year, Xiaomi is a Chinese company that already conquered its space in the segment. The Xiaomi branded TVs have been running a custom version of Android in the past years, but apparently, this is going to change soon.

According to a new leak, Xiaomi has three new TV’s in the pipeline that will boast Android TV out of the box. These three new TVs are named: Mi 4 Pro, Mi 4A Pro, and Mi 4C Pro and will drop the customized Android in favor of Google’s TV-specific software solution.

According to Android TV Rumors, the Mi 4 PRO will come with a 4K display, 2GB of RAM and the Amlogic T960X processor. The Mi 4A Pro will pack the same 2GB of RAM but will drop the resolution to FHD and use the Amlogic T950X processor. The Mi 4C Pro will be the most modest, and possibly cheaper TV with a 720p display, 1GB of RAM and the Amlogic T950X chipset.

The two Amlogic chipsets are new and may likely debut with the newest Xiaomi TVs. Since these are just rumors of a brand new chipset, we have no clue of the number of Cores, Clock frequency, and GPU. The trio of TVs is likely to debut in markets in Europe such as Italy, France, Turkey, and Spain. While some of these markets have just started to officially sell Xiaomi products, would make sense for the Chinese maker to debut the new line of TVs there.
