Meizu announced three new smartphones today at a single launch event at the Beijing Performance Arts center in China. One of them was the Meizu X8. The handset is comparable to the iPhone XR in design as it is the first Meizu device to feature a notch.
At the launch event, Meizu emphasised that the Meizu X8 has the same LCD COF ultra-narrow bezel technology as the iPhone XR. This results in very narrow borders as the corners are 1.7mm, bottom is 4.8mm, and the forehead is 2.84mm. The display itself has an 89.6 percent screen-to-body ratio and is a 6.15-inch LCD panel with 1080p+ resolution and 83% NTSC colour gamut. The back of the Meizu X8 is porcelain which makes the back very shiny and glossy, The fingerprint reader is also placed at the back and can be used for unlocking and WeChat and Alipay payments.
