The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite were released in China during the past week, to extend the number of smartphones in the Mi 8 series. Xiaomi’s Global spokesperson Donovan Sung confirmed that the Global edition of Mi 8 Pro would be released soon, alongside the Mi 8 Lite. Today, the company official Twitter account released the first teaser pointing to the release of Mi 8 Lite in the Global markets.

The above teaser doesn’t reveal when the Mi 8 Lite will sail around the Globe but confirms the presence of the powerful Kyro Snapdragon 660 chipset. In China the device was released in multiple variants with 4GB RAM + 64GB of Storage ($204), 6GB RAM + 64GB of Storage (~$277) and 6GB RAM + 128GB of Storage (~$291). However, it remains to be seen if the Chinese company will carry the same variants to the other markets and if the price will be the same.
When it comes to the specifications, the Mi 8 Lite is powered by the 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660. The device boasts a 6.26-inch IPS LCD screen with a top-notch and 19:9 aspect ratio. The camera department is made by a dual-setup in the rear with a pair of 12MP + 5MP cameras. On the front, the device carries a single, but powerful, 24MP snapper. The handset ships with Android 8.1 Oreo out-the-box with MIUI 10 running atop, to fuel this box of specs, we have a 3,350mAh battery.
