The Apple iPhone XS and XS Max came to bring some new enhacements to the iPhone camera capabilities. With the new sensors, an user is able to make depth-of-field adjustments to a photo after it has been processed. With this feature, users are able to adjust sharpness or smoothness of an environment after the photo is captured. The most recent iOS 12.1 beta includes a new feature that allow iPhone owners to make depth-of-field adjustment while they are capturing a portrait picture.

When a picture is being taken in the Portrait mode, a slider will appear on the bottom allowing the user to adjust depth-of-field while the photo is being taken. It will also allow the photographer to see how different settings will affect the final image before the picture is snapped. Currently, these adjustments can only be made after the picture is snapped, by pressing the Edit button and changing the Bokeh effect of a processed image.
Samsung already has a similar feature on the Galaxy S9, S9+ and the Galaxy Note 9 that allows the user to adjust the depth-of-field in real time. With the newest iOS update, the iPhone XS and XS Max owners will be able to join to this select gang of smartphones.
