Google has a kind of addict for renaming their apps and products after a specific period of time. Today, the company choose Google Feed to receive a “renaming-treatment” and the former feed is now called Google Discover. According to the search giant, the new moniker will reflect better the service’s mission, which is to help users to uncover fresh and interesting content about their preferences.
Discover can be found inside the Google App for Android, and in a special pane to the left of the leftmost home screen on Pixels and some other smartphone through the use of Custom Launchers. The feature is coming soon to Google.com mobile website.

Alongside the new name, Google also decided to introduce some new features, like a topic header that explain why you’re seeing a particular card. Tapping on the header will allow users to dive deeper into a specific topic and get more information about it. Last but not least, users can set to follow a specific topic to keep getting more news about.
The company will keep introducing new features to Discover in the coming months, as well as suggestions to users based on their preferences and not only in topics that they’ve been searching. You will be able to tell Discover whether you want more or less content on any topic or news and keep adjusting it with your preferences.
Are you excited for it? The update is being delivered out via an update in the Google App, so be patient. Like we mentioned before, Discover will make its way to the mobile Google website soon, so stay tuned.
