Well, once again, another company underestimated the power and unpredictability of consumer’s opinion. OnePlus decided today to ask their fans what is their favorite OP6 feature, the answer? The 3.5mm headphone jack and this couldn’t be worse for the Chinese firm, considering that their next flagship will drop the precious port.
It’s not a secret that the OnePlus 6T will not carry the aforementioned port, and onePlus itself confirmed this information. Unfortunately, for the Chinese company, this particular feature is a treasure for most of their audience, so they couldn’t have chosen a worse time for doing a “poll” like this one.

Gizchina News of the week
The question was also a target of some trolls that decided to mock the Chinese company for asking such thing ahead of the OnePlus 6T, and some answers are simply hilarious:

Fortunately, for OnePlus, there are a few users saying that Dash Charge and Lower price are among the best OnePlus 6 features. OnePlus can choose to look only for these particular and few users, to keep thinking that the 3.5mm headphone jack removal is going to be a benefit.
That’s not a secret that everyone loves the 3.5mm headphone jack, but companies keep removing it, OnePlus is just the latest company to jump in this controversial bandwagon. We’ve seen in the last years that fans keep begging companies to not remove the port, but these firms are simply ignoring it, leaving the users with no option other than accept this fate.
Not everyone. I haven’t used one in years.
Not really a great surprise, but you have to question a company doing a survey like this, right before they release their next flagship phone. Maybe Oneplus are thinking further ahead for the 7. Yes, the headphone socket is popular, but it does take up precious space in a phone, when they are under pressure to cram as much tech into a winning phone design. If they were to fit a DAC into the phone, rather than stick with their awful Dirac sound system, which only works with their low quality ear buds, then keeping a 3.5mm headphone socket would make perfect sense. The poor audio is the main reason I will not buy a Oneplus.
