Although there have been widespread speculations suggesting that the Galaxy S10 could be Sammy’s first device to get the advanced in-display biometric tech, recent reports from industry source suggests the feature might actually first feature in a new Galaxy P series of smartphones before making it to the Galaxy S10 tipped for early 2019 release.
We have not been able to get a response from Samsung, however, reports say the new series of Samsung phones – the Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30+ with model number SM-G6200 could be Samsung’s first response to a number of devices with the in-display fingerprint sensor so far released mostly by Chinses OEMs. The feature Galaxy P30 and its plus-sized variant are reportedly due for release before the year runs out, and it would make a lot of sense for Samsung to test the technology before pushing it to its flagship range of smartphone.
Now, in what looks like a timely preparation for its release, the alleged Galaxy P30 has now been certified by the 3C certification body in China, where it will initially be sold. China remains one of the largest and most lucrative smartphone markets globally, and it is usually a target market for most manufacturers.
Gizchina News of the week
Other than the model number, the listing doesn’t reveal any further information about the device but we know from previous reports that the base Galaxy P30 will ship with LCD display, while the OLED panel might be reserved for the plus-sized variant. In effect, the Galaxy P30+ might be the only variant tipped to ship with the in-display fingerprint technology.
Reportedly, the Galaxy P30 will come in 64GB, 128GB storage, 6GB RAM, and in four gradient color options that are a mix of Black, Blue, Pink, and Red.
Other than the aforementioned, there are currently no concrete leaks that point to what the P30 will bring to the table. Hopefully, the device might pay the necessary visit to TENAA in the following days.
